This dip is simple and crowd pleasing. Kids love it too. Great for football parties or other winter gatherings. The fontina gives it a nutty herbaceous flavor, and fontina’s ability to melt well makes this dip creamy smooth.
It is delicious with the “homemade” pita chips as directed. If you can’t find good fresh pitas at your market, I would slice up a crusty baguette. I would also try to find the plainest marinated artichokes that you can. This recipe will easily serve a crowd of 8-10. It smells great coming out of the oven, and I literally had to hold my family back while I took a picture of it. It is mild enough that any sort of dinner could follow. I will definitely make this one again. It is hard to go wrong when you mix artichokes and fontina!
